Baseline Emissions Footprint.

The baseline emissions for 2023 serve as the reference point for our emission reduction efforts. This includes direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2), and selected categories of indirect emissions (Scope 3) as per GHG Protocol guidelines.

Baseline Year: 2023
Baseline Year Emissions: 83.6 tonnes CO2e

Breakdown of 2023 Emissions:

Scope 1 – Direct Emissions: 0.6 tonnes CO2e Emissions from stationary combustion sources like boilers and generators.
Scope 2 – Indirect Emissions from Energy: 3.9 tonnes CO2e Emissions from purchased electricity.
Scope 3 – Other Indirect Emissions: 79 tonnes CO2e Emissions from waste disposal, business travel, and employee commuting.

Current Emissions Reporting (2024)

Current Emissions Reporting (2024) In 2024, our total emissions were reduced to 76.4 tonnes CO2e, marking a 4% reduction from the baseline year.

2024 Emissions Breakdown:

Scope 1 – Direct Activities: 0.5 tonnes CO2e
Scope 2 – Purchased Electricity: 3.0 tonnes CO2e
Scope 3 – Other Indirect Emissions: 72.9 tonnes CO2e

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Initiatives:

Since establishing our baseline in 2023, we have implemented several environmental management measures:

ISO 14001 Certification: Achieved certification for our environmental management system.
Energy Efficient Lighting: Upgraded lighting in one office to LED/PIR lighting controls, with plans to complete the second office in 2024.
Reduction in Travel: Implemented a policy to reduce company travel and flights by 30%, encouraging virtual meetings.
Fleet Electrification: Transitioned 20% of our vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (6 out of 30).

These initiatives have resulted in a reduction of 3.52 tonnes CO2e.

Future Initiatives

We aim to further our carbon reduction efforts through:

Complete Fleet Electrification: Transition the entire vehicle fleet to electric by 2030.
Renewable Energy Adoption: Install solar panels on company premises to generate renewable energy.
Carbon Offsetting Projects: Invest in certified carbon offset projects to balance out unavoidable emissions.
New Office Openings: Establish offices in the Midlands and Scotland to reduce energy usage for meeting attendance.

Declaration

This Carbon Reduction Plan adheres to PPN 06/21 and relevant guidelines, ensuring accurate reporting in accordance with the GHG Reporting Protocol and SECR requirements. It has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
